A neat way to make dragons a playable race as well as a great list of unique dragons to use as NPCs (though it would have been nice to have a stat block for each new type of dragon so I could use them as enemies for my players)

A good attempt at bringing dragons as a PC

The book at time of purchasing was clearly designed with 2014 D&D rules in mind. As a DM I would certainly revise some pieces to fit in line with 2024 rules, and I feel that the gifts could use some better organization beyond just alphabetical - even if its ravager / mage adept only sections, and a third for either/miscellaneous as currently there is a lot of options that are overwhelming without having better separation.

The book is good for a foundation, and flexible enough to refine to fit your home game, I would have liked a section to play as true dragons with some guidelines if everyone in the party wanted to be a full dragon party with the eventuality of being a true dragon in power/stats - but that's the flexibility that I talk about.

Lastly, I think the breath mechanic could use a small buff - either in expending resources of other types to obtain breath weapon uses per short rest as the limited useage of it pushes you to stray away from the multitude of breath weapon feats, but the uses of breath weapon, feels underpowered at the expense of other options you give up.
